(CIRS) centre for interactive
research on sustainability
The Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability (CIRS), located on UBC's Vancouver campus is designed to be one of the greenest buildings on earth, being water self-sufficient and producing more energy than it needs.
With its sustainable wood structure, large glass windows and live green walls and roof, the stunning four-story CIRS exterior will blend harmoniously with the west coast beauty of the UBC campus.
Yardworks supplied the green roof growing media and the biofiltration media for the bioswale. Our products were chosen because they met the demanding technical specifications from a horticultural and engineering standpoint and met the needs of the contractor for installation.
We are proud to be part of a project that will be a world-class showcase of green construction that creates functional and inspiring spaces for teaching, learning, research and community-building.
