When temperatures get too cold for de-icing salt, you need a quality ice melter product. Our ice melter salt is a blend of sodium chloride and calcium chloride which makes it effective even when temperatures fall to -23ºC.
With the additional of calcium chloride, this blend works fast even in colder temperatures. Calcium chloride produces heat when in contact with ice, quickly melting frozen surfaces. The resulting brine solution is resistant to refreezing keeping surfaces safer for driving or walking.
On its own, calcium chloride has a tendency to cake and harden when exposed to humidity. Since we’ve blended ours with sodium chloride, it’s easier to handle, with a longer shelf-life.
